This miniature has been done by distinguished Muhammad Nadir Samarcandi in Kashmir where he accompanied emperor Jehangir. This miniature tells us the story about Yussuf.
Composition is divided into some levels according to the story.
This Indian miniature singles out of the other paintings of that period. A sky, a city, mountains, figures are typical for Indian miniature painting. But images of people, their wear and poses are done in Central Asia style. We see no disharmony in that.
