SULTAN-MUHAMMAD BAKHADUR - KHAN'S ESCAPE FROM PRISON TO HIS BROTHER SHEIBANI-KHAN, Shadi. «Fatkh-nama»

“Fatkh-nama” – is a poem about the establishment of Uzbek dynasty of Sheibanids. This miniature depicts Sultan-Muhammad Bakhadur-Khan’s escape from prison to his brother Sheibani-Khan who has met him with great honour. The way to Sheibani-Khan was very difficult across the mountains. The artist renders severe landscape of grey and purple rocks and between them there is a muddy mountain stream. The figure of the runaway is in the composition centre which is prolonged by high mountain peak Kuuz-tau. Composition balance is kept by two trees and an animal behind them. Minimum of descriptive means, clear design idea, deep colours, Uzbek face features and his dress are typical features of Samarkand and Bukhara painting school in the beginning of XVI century.
