The composition has many figures. It depicts Iskender’s funeral. One of Iskender’s hand is out of the eternity box just to show that even the Great man passes away empty-handed. This composition is not pompous. This is a ceremony as for common people. On the way of the ceremony there are a lot of crying women. In the foreground there are people in misery: some of them tearing their dresses, the others cover their faces in scarves.
Purple, blue and black colours create atmosphere of sorrow.
