TIMUR'S CAMPAIGN IN INDIA, Khatifi. «Timur-nama»

This miniature depicts a historical event. This diptych singles out by a lot of forms, many figures and excess of actions. Movements of the soldiers shooting from the bows or riding the horses with swords create dynamic atmosphere and impression of a real battle.
Strict rhythm, clear lines, flatness go match with detailed elements of wear, armory and harness. Unlike the previous miniatures we see no background, all space of the picture is full of man figures. Stylistically this miniature is close to Indian manuscripts. Architectural elements, a canopy with a bird, sketch of tree leaves, harness of elephants and their bracelets with bells are shown exactly with historical details, these features are typical for Mogul miniature painting.
